Overview
The Real Estate Document Analysis project streamlines property document review for home buyers and real estate agents. Using AI, it extracts and summarizes key details, providing a clear, top-level overview of essential property information to support quick, informed decisions.
Problem Statement
Home buyers and real estate agents need a faster way to extract essential information from property documents to make informed decisions efficiently.
Design Process
Research and Brainstorming
I worked with Alex, the founder, to address key pain points for home buyers and agents reviewing real estate documents. Starting with his MVP, I refined the the initial user flow to streamline information extraction. Alex’s insights into market practices and competitors helped us differentiate the product, leading to an intuitive UX and UI focused on efficient, user-friendly document analysis.
Explorations and Iterations
I focused on exploring and iterating designs to streamline the document review process. Initial wireframes facilitated rapid collaboration with Alex, helping us identify technical constraints and align on the user flow for both home buyers and real estate agents.
Through iterative refinements, I developed a solution that effectively balances simplicity with the essential functionality needed to extract key information and generate detailed reports.
Design Solution
I implemented key enhancements to improve the Real Estate Document Analysis tool:
Enhanced User Experience: Streamlined the user flow for home buyers and real estate agents, simplifying document uploads and report generation.
Modernized User Interface: Redesigned the MVP interface for a more intuitive and contemporary look.
Improved Reporting Layout: Optimized the report layout for easier readability and navigation.
Outcomes
Although still in development, initial user testing for the Real Estate Document Analysis project has received positive feedback, particularly regarding the streamlined document upload process and clear interface. Users reported that the tool reduces report generation time to just 10-15 minutes, compared to the hours typically spent on manual review. These improvements establish a strong foundation for future iterations, with plans to gather user metrics to measure engagement and satisfaction as we refine the solution.
Personal Reflection
Working on this project has highlighted key design challenges, particularly in managing the complexity of diverse real estate documents and ensuring accurate information extraction. Maintaining data reliability was essential, reinforcing the need for rigorous testing and ongoing user feedback. This experience has deepened my understanding of balancing user experience with technology, shaping my approach to future design projects.
